The model was built to depict Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat No. 3417/White 19, VF-10, USS Enterprise flown by Stanly W. “Swede” Vejtasa during the Battle of Santa Cruz in October 1942.
It was built out of the box except for use of Print Scale 1/48 Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat & Martlet Aces decals and the Eduard EX092 Paint Mask for masking the canopy.
Finishing was accomplished using Tamiya acrylic paints.
